Great support from HOOAI

I upgraded this from two stars to three stars thanks to great customer service from seller HOOAI who was quick to offer a refund or free replacement. I opted for a replacement hoping the one I received first was the only fault. Unfortunately, the replacement product was the same device as my original review below. However, the carburetor works and despite the lack of product and thanks to the prompt customer support, I would happily work with HOOAI again. I put it on my daughter's 06 TTR125LE. The carburetor looks and appears to fit and function "almost" the same as the original Mikuni. Unfortunately it does not have a bypass valve (see photo with factory carburettor in front of this carburettor). The spill drain is an important part of the carburetor (especially on a dirt bike) and prevents fuel from entering the engine and crankcase if the bike is shaking, falling over, or simply going over a bump or steep incline (which is very common). ). when driving off-road). I don't know if it was just a manufacturing defect with this unit or if everyone has this problem (obviously they all are because the replacement I got is the same). But as it is, I don't trust it for real off-road driving. It should work well enough for the kids to ride some more while I try to modify the stock carburetor with parts from the original. Pros: Finishes and features are nearly identical to the Mikuni. The spring on the needle valve actually feels a bit heavier. .No tuning required, this carb seems to be preset to factory settings (I just had to adjust its idle mixture a bit because I'm at a higher altitude). Cons: No overflow drain is a major con (I would have given this product five stars if it weren't for this issue). I'll see if I can convert the overflow from the old carb and update my results. The choke spring is much lighter than the factory Mikuni (not a big problem and I just replaced it). Conclusion. A: I think this carb is worth it if you're willing to make some changes to it. In the near future I will report on how easy or difficult these modifications were.
