Select Baseball and softball begin in late March in the Midwest, and the weather is rarely pleasant at this time. With two kids playing multiple games a week and this mom who never misses her kids games, I needed something to protect me from the wind, rain and cold that I sometimes sit in for hours at tournaments. .This is the third "sports blanket" that I have bought. and will be the last. The first was a simple, waterproof, fleece-lined blanket. I quickly found that it didn't keep me warm around the neck and didn't cover my legs to keep them warm at the same time. The second was a highly acclaimed waterproof blanket advertised for "extreme weather". It was warm but stiff, and the "inner" fleece layer and the "outer" waterproof layer weren't bonded together, so I found that when I tried to wrap myself up like a burrito, the two layers slipped off. very much and irritates me. Then I stumbled across this blanket while ordering new folding chairs from the same company (which I love by the way!). I had no intention of buying another blanket (because my search for the perfect blanket was getting more and more expensive) but this intrigued me. While I'll most likely never make a tent, hammock, or canopy out of it, the fact that it's so versatile seemed pretty cool, and I really liked that it had a hood. So I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. PROS: - This duvet is thin and very "flexible" (not stiff like others I've bought) but still very warm. - It can be zipped up around the perimeter to make the sleeping bag I made once and found it quite comfortable. - It's big enough to cover my legs when I'm sitting and it wraps around me a few times for extra warmth. - It has an integrated carry pouch so I don't have to keep the footprint small A lightweight pouch that's easy to empty if I (or one of my kids or my husband) don't hide it somewhere while I'm using the duvet - Er is very easy to wash. One of the other comforters mentioned above holds water inside when washed, and since it's actually not suitable for the dryer, it takes forever to dry. If you are also a fan of Kijaro daybeds, the colors of the bedspread match the colors of the chairs! Bonus! CONS: I really wish the hood had some kind of "latch". For example a clasp or shoelaces. It doesn't stay on my head very well unless I wrap myself in a blanket to secure it tightly around my neck, and the blanket somehow covers the bottom corners of the hood. But I'll fix that eventually by adding buttons or something to tighten the hood around my face. Overall I LOVE this duvet. My husband and kids know they can take any of my outdoor blankets without fear, but don't mess with Mom's Kijaro Kubie Blanket!
