Came in a set of two pieces - one pointed and sharp, the other much thicker and blunt. The steel is soft and bends easily, there is no harshness. When I used it on leather sheaths it worked flawlessly. Punching holes in thicker leather or doing other intricate work can be questionable or useless. When I tried to get the tip over the rivet, the awl bent about 3/4 inch from the tip. It was easy to bend back, but. It's cheap and sometimes useful. I've had trouble finding a good awl with a very fine point and this one is no good. YMMV. The other side of the experience, I had been waiting for this for TWO months when Revane said I would receive it within 5-7 business days! Very misleading. I would definitely spend money elsewhere if I knew.
