Arrived well packaged and heavily lubricated but the spindle is not smooth and jams once per revolution so you have to rap it. Obviously, in such a state it could not be used, and even its dismantling did not allow repair without processing. A shame as it otherwise seems like a decent $25 (although far from accurate!). It's clear that there is no quality control here, and that's not unusual considering I've since seen a similar complaint about a different size version of this vise. Returned.
