Grohe isn't just a manufacturer of sanitary ware. In the past few years they have turned so many of their gadgets into HIGH TECH! I may be wrong but I think this remote control is the first in a shower head! I always thought this wouldn't happen as the control valve in the shower head is under load when it's turned on and this drains battery power. But Grohe has to use a very efficient motor in the head to drive that valve without quickly draining the showerhead's batteries. I tested it for 50 spins, it was flawless, no signs of battery wear so I trust them on battery drain as German engineering is rarely wrong. The shower head can be used both as an attachment (rain) and as a standard shower. assemble, which makes sense as it serves a broader market. The 3 beam patterns are different, so it makes sense to use the beam mode switching method. See image for spray modes. So why remote control or finger lever? I suppose. Most are used as a countertop or rain shower with a handheld shower head on the wall. So it would be awkward to reach up. In tall showers, some people can't even reach the shower head. So the remote makes sense. I mentioned Star Trek in this thread because it's quite a high tech install and looks very high tech, I love the look of the remote control. Like all Grohe products. , the appearance of the head is excellent, the finish is first class, second only to NONE. The instructions are good and although I rarely need Grohe tech support, the few times I needed them they answered the phone and were very professional! The IMO price of this rain shower head is very competitive all in all. Electronics in plumbing aren't as big as smartphones, so the fact that Grohe came up with such a cool electronic system that offers functions that aren't really possible without a remote control, well, I have to give this smart connect shower a little something head 5 stars. Kudos to the Grohe Design Team for this ONE!
