Let me start by saying that I also have a Vitamix Professional 300 blender. a large number of functions. If you're not the kind of person who constantly mixes intense foods, the Braun is for you. I actually sold my Vitamix and replaced it with this Braun as it better suits my needs and I like its features. Braun is a beautifully made machine. It feels strong and durable. The plastic used is of high quality, the buttons respond well, the jug has a metal closure. The only lack of material quality is the plastic over the controls. Micro-scratches appear on it very easily - for example, it is easily wiped with a cotton kitchen towel. Brown has a touchpad and button on the front. The knob allows you to select the texture when using the automatic program (fine to smooth). You can also manually select a speed from 1 to 10 and let it run for as long as you like. I used the pre-programmed smoothie and peanut butter settings and it worked well. I used the manual settings to prepare the hummus and puree the tomatoes. Peanut butter got smooth and creamy in minutes. The included tamper helped me ensure all the peanuts were blended. The smoothies were delicious and well blended with no chunks in a smooth environment. Hummus and tomatoes go great together. He smoothly coped with all the tasks I set him. Cleaning is pretty easy. There's a clean setting where you fill the reservoir halfway with hot water and dish soap. It worked great for smoothies and mixed tomatoes. For the peanut butter and hummus, I also had to manually clean the jar and lid with a sponge. The jug is easy to clean thanks to the wide base and good clearance around the blades, but there are many small spots on the lid where food can get stuck. The Braun is very stable in use and does not wobble or roll around the counter. At top speeds it's as loud as you'd expect, but at lower speeds it's surprisingly quiet. based on all things considered. Great blender (Update 11/29/2021: It broke and was replaced with no issues. I was using it to make peanut butter when I smelled burning plastic and a few seconds later the blades stopped turning but the motor connection between the blades and the metal teeth on the bottom might have broken inside the last time I made peanut butter it worked fine but I smelled like burnt plastic so it might have been weathered by now Since I got the brown and it worked fine back then I contacted Braun and the customer service was excellent and fast. They sent me a new unit and a tag to send one back.)
