When I first connected it, the sound was clear with a slight tinge, but as soon as the surround sound emulation was activated, I lost my mind. The better the source, the steeper the emulation. Expect nothing short of miracles from the on-air channel, but the 5.1 blues make a noticeable impact right away. Although it's obviously not a full-fledged 5.1, it fills the space in front of you extremely effectively, giving the impression that a plane, for instance, was waiting for it to be there and is now that it is. Everything has an output, including HDMI, sub output, and optical. The optics are already included, but you'll need to purchase HDMI. By using the TV remote to control the HDMI-connected arc, you won't regret it.
