First of all I would like to say that the customer service from this seller is phenomenal! My tote bag arrived torn and the seller was quick to respond and take action to resolve the issue. Overall: The product itself is made of very high quality CNC stainless steel, its HEAVY caliber, durable and basically explosion-proof. The parts connect precisely, without wobbling or violence, and pull apart the same way. The balance of the finished assembly is strong and stable. In use, I didn't feel like I had to "balance" the utensils on the crossbars or worry about the utensils tipping over if I wasn't careful. This stove is not for hiking, but suitable for any situation when taken with you or in the trunk. Built for life. In Use: It requires some attention and strength to run to set up the base and create convection that sucks in air and lifts it. Start small with a combustible core and feed a small amount of fuel from ABOVE until you get a good burn. THEN load the hopper once the fire has started. Once it's up and running, it's literally a rocket! Depending on the fuel, it runs almost smoke-free. Fuel, as said before - find, click and feed. Dryer and harder wood gives a much cleaner burn and higher temperature. I've found that the size of each stick is less important than keeping a good volume in the hopper and feeding without forcing the wood into the combustion chamber. It WILL burn damp/soft or new wood (things a campfire hates) when lit, but will burn a little smoky and not as hot. Heating and Cooking: In terms of cooking, it's better, hotter and faster than any bottled fuel. oven I have ever used. I was able to keep vegetable oil at around 350-400 F for an hour (for frying) using a cast iron skillet with a lid. Got a violent boil of 4 liters of water for about 15 minus for pasta. You CAN control the temperature by adjusting the fuel flow - pull or add fuel on the fly, you just need to get a feel for how the stove is behaving. I was surprised by the amount of fuel needed (or not needed) to burn well. It's not as much as you think, and you don't have to be a part of everything. You intuitively feel him eating chopsticks. The radiant heat from the stove isn't much body heat, it's not like an open fire - as it's designed to push heat up, not out. As with ANY stove, you'll be badly burned on contact and it'll stay hot for a while, so plan your packaging accordingly. A shiny new toy isn't going to be that shiny anymore. The accumulation of soot depends almost entirely on the quality of the fuel used. Hardwood/dry wood produces virtually no soot. The oven parts are partially linked together by gravity, so you can take them apart while they're still hot (see comments below), which allows the parts to cool faster. I tossed the parts in the dishwasher to clean and it was great. I had to clean it once after using some crappy fuel to get rid of soot build up. The individual pieces are easy to manage in your kitchen sink, and you can definitely run a few cycles between cleanings if that's your thing. The steel edges are milled but can be SHARP as paper. Be careful when handling. All parts of the oven + warming plate, poker and a few starter sticks fit in the carrying bag provided. It's tight but works. Accessories: Tray and Poker - I received a heating tray and poker kit with my original purchase. They fit in the original bag with the main oven parts and both are SUPER USEFUL! The tray is sold and simply fixed in the main plate and most importantly it does not disturb the balance of the plate. I'm not afraid of knocking over the stove when I put loaded pots on it. The poker is probably the most important accessory you will definitely need when using this stove. You push, pull, lift and move basically everything with it - grab this or whatever comes handy - YOU WILL NEED IT. A good example is that you can take apart a hot stove with a poker and set the parts aside to cool and toss the remaining coals into the fire pit without touching anything. could use it. It consists of two solid pieces of cast iron, a base and a grate. I've tested it on the stove and the balance and size are impressive, again no worries about tipping over (within reason!). In particular, the grilling part has a hard center in the grilling area to dissipate direct heat, which should create good, burn-free grilling areas. I have three issues with the grill - 1) like cast iron, I'm worried an accidental drop might break it 2) cleaning! Should I season it like a pot before using it? I imagine it will be pretty gross after use. and 3) I'm disappointed that it doesn't come with a carrying case for cost and convenience reasons. It's awkward to carry and store 2 pieces separately and I don't know the best way to go about using this thing. Travel - both before and after use. Conclusion: This is it! TLDR: excellent customer service / very high quality product / useful and functional / useful accessory. Highly recommended, don't hesitate to pay a little more for this product as it has a long life ahead of it.
