I was surprised at how durable these lights were. We needed to replace about 12ft of under cabinet lighting and were looking for cabinets to match our (high quality) custom walnut furniture. The 'Bronze' color was perfect - not at all flashy and metallic, but a modern (powder coated?) finish. The direct connections allowed me to butt the lights together for an even beam of light with no gaps. The uniformity of the light and its distribution is ideal over the kitchen counter. The temperature of the light was a bit lower than I expected, maybe because I was used to the warmth of the cheap lights they replaced, but after a few days the light felt fresh, clean, and modern. Installation was quick and painless - even my 12-year-old daughter figured it out and was able to help! The electrical connections are smart and well thought out - you don't need an electrician's license to solve the mysteries of what goes where! Surprisingly, they worked with our existing Lutron dimmer, although they can be inconsistent for the first 25% of slider travel when trying to find the right voltage. I have purchased a new Lutron dimmer specifically for LED installations but have not yet installed it. I hope this solves this little problem. We're leaving the existing dimmer at about 1/2 or more for now. These lamps are more expensive than the lighter offerings at your local hardware store, but I think they're worth it. If you're looking for impressive finishes (although these types of lights are usually hidden) and top-notch build quality, then this is for you! Sorry to end the cliché but you really do get what you pay for. Oh, and they are shipped superbly packaged to avoid damage in transit.
