Keep It On The Level

This projector is very light and quite compact. When I unpacked it, I wasn't thrilled with the quality. There is a feeling of cheap plastic. Setup was so easy I was able to quickly connect it to my iPhone for AirPlay. The on-screen instructions explained the three-step process pretty well. The projector has two dials, one for focus and one for keystone correction. The image seemed bright enough, but I found the keystone correction was not effective enough. This is manual keystone correction (not electronic), so rotating it moves something in the lens. The dial appears to be loose and it didn't stay exactly where I left it. I have found that the best image is obtained when the projector is raised to almost the same height as the screen to keep it as level as possible. You're right about the screen too. If you try to use manual keystone correction instead of keeping the projector level with the screen, most of the screen will be out of focus. The sound from the projector speaker was workable, but I think you should use powered speakers if using with a larger group. I also used a projector with an HDMI cable for my MacBook. This worked as expected. For the money I don't think this is a terrible projector. It's light and compact enough to take with you anywhere. Bright enough for use at night. However, I think I was spoiled with the Epson projector I had at a previous job. It was much sharper and used electronic keystone correction instead of the manual keystone correction found on this projector. This allowed me to position the projector low and to the side and still have a clear image. But this MYDASH projector is much easier to use with my phone than Epson.
