These bowls are larger than regular paper bowls. I use them to reheat leftover spaghetti, chili, tomato soup and cobbler in the microwave and they warm up but never leak or get wet. It seems to me that any container placed in the microwave for more than a few minutes will start to heat up, which makes sense. Microwave the potatoes, then add the buttercream and shredded cheese and they never lost their shape. I think putting it hot on a wooden table might damage it, just like a hot pan, but I still use quilted spots on all dishes to protect the wood as a whole. Will definitely buy again.
