Review on Enhanced Mobile Pixels Portable Monitor with Upgraded Dual Screen Kickstand - 14", 1920X1080, by David Lahman

Works as advertised but cheap design. Linux installation kit

The product works exactly as advertised, but for the $300 price tag, its design is pretty annoying. The monitor just hangs in a way that doesn't feel solid. The monitor panel is made of fairly cheap plastic. I would be more comfortable if the rail/loop was reinforced in some way to make me feel more confident about the weight of the monitor mount. If this thing doesn't break in a year I'll update my review. BTW, this works on Linux. The setup is small but complex, but the combination I got to work is as follows: 1. Arch Linux (kept up-to-date, current kernel was 5.6.4 at the time of writing) 2. Gnome3 display manager. git version of evdi (dependency)4. Native Displaylink5 driver. USB-C connection (may not matter) With a little fiddling, this combination should work. If you're having weird mouse or display issues, switch to Wayland and it'll be gone. Strangely, even after switching back to xorg, the problem didn't go away. Note that if you have an Optimus laptop like mine, you need to switch to the Intel GPU, turn off the NVIDIA GPU and unload the NVIDIA driver. Also, don't enable the Displaylink service in the default runlevel, but start it when needed. It cannot coexist with the proprietary DisplayLink driver. The Optimus manager software should switch NVIDIA cards without any problems.
