High learning curve, but the results are great!

I used this on wood and the whole time I was wondering why it foamed so much. I was starting to notice that my alumylite residue was also foaming. It turns out there were several reasons for this, but they only show how spirited this material is. After many mixes, I realized that I hadn't stabilized the wood at first. The wood absorbed alumite and released air. This resulted in foaming. I also mixed "relatively" close to what I needed. This led to sticky results that often turned milky. Mix by weight, keep away from moisture and with wood; stabilize first. Cactus juice or Minwax wood hardener will also work if you don't have baking tools. If you need to color the resin, use alcohol stamps. Any type works. Powder stamps also work, but don't use anything water-based. By making a test cast first (any small amount will do) you can see how it reacts and help debug the final product.
