So far so good, but knurled door nuts are terrible.

I took this flashlight after seeing Gerald Andon's review. So far, everything he's said seems to correlate to how this light source works. There are sharp jumps between color temperature and brightness, but overall this is a great light for the price. I would give it five stars except putting the damn barn doors up was a nightmare. The thumbscrews were TERRIBLE. I've seen a lot of reviews commenting on this and I was hoping it was a little over the top but no I can attest that they are so horrible that even though I accidentally turned the barn doors upside down I did I'll leave it because I don't want to deal with them again. They are uncomfortable, the clips on the frame are uncomfortable and my holes were the wrong size. The two thumbscrews turned fine once I put them in, but two of them were too tight. I thought I twisted them but no matter how many times I take them off and try again they are too tight to twist. I had to screw in the other two screws with a screwdriver, which resulted in a few small scratches on the device. Eventually I may just recut the holes and use my own thumbscrews, but that's not a big deal for now as I don't see me removing barn doors any time soon. Otherwise the light is really good. It looks premium and well made, especially for the price, and puts out more than enough light for my needs. I would recommend this light with the caveat that barn doors are very difficult to fit. I hope that GVM will solve this problem in the next model.
