Review on Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock (No longer produced by the manufacturer) by Jason Graham

Convenience Your Name is Kodak

I really can't find enough positive reviews for this little car! It's fast, easy to use, and generally reliable. The print quality is no worse than in the photo lab. This gives you the ability to print photos of different sizes on each sheet, so you are not limited to a 4x6 size per sheet. (Though it would be nice if Kodak developed a docking station version that could produce prints larger than 4x6.) Also, the Kodak paper developed for this has narrow edges, so you can handle the photo without fingerprints when it comes out of it. Then you simply tear off the edges along the perforation. A sample is included and once you've tried it you won't even think of using anything else. There are a few features I particularly like, such as the auto enhance button, which adjusts your image to look better before printing. But perhaps the biggest benefit for me was that you can print without using a computer. You can view your images on your camera's LCD screen and choose which ones to print. Another feature that drew me in was the built-in SD/MMC card reader. Talk about convenience! Again, the images are displayed on your camera's LCD screen. However, the dock loses half a star for having to pause and initialize each photo before displaying it while reading the SD/MMC card - too much time when you're viewing a large number of images. I have a few complaints that sometimes when I place the camera on the dock, the last picture taken doesn't automatically appear on the screen as it should. The dock initializes, then the screen goes black. The problem is easily solved by unplugging and plugging the dock's power cord back in, but that gets annoying and costs the dock another half star in my book. Also, you have to be careful that nothing is behind the dock when printing, as there is no receiving tray or anything to protect the prints as they slide through the back. (Each print goes through the dock four times, moving back and forth to pick up pigment and laminate.) When I bought this dock I was looking for high quality, durable machine prints that were easy to use. All in all, the Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Plus really works!
