I found this LED tube to be the perfect solution for my needs. I was trying to put a variable light on the autopilot and switchboard that I use for the flight simulator. This gooseneck is great for that. It rests on the table (under the book), lifts off the front of the table, and rotates 90 degrees about 2 inches from the table surface. It floods the front of the panels with light, and with a light touch at the end I can turn it on, off, dim or brighten to adjust the amount of light to the needs of the space.
