I bought these replacement cartridges because branded cartridges are so expensive and I only print documents. I don't even use paint very often so it seemed crazy to spend that kind of money on a cartridge. I knew I had to remove the chips from the original cartridge and put them in new cartridges. This pack made my job as easy as possible. It even had the tools needed to remove the chip from an old cartridge. The little book that was included had pictures of the process so that was very helpful. Replacing the chip was a bit tricky as the chip is so small, but I was able to do it with all cartridges and didn't have too many problems. I dropped a chip in a used cartridge when I was taking it out, but I shook it out (ugh) and put it in a new cartridge and everything worked fine. This process can be difficult for some people with vision or hand problems, but if you have the patience, it's worth it! I swapped out all 5 cartridges in about 15-20 minutes. Once I did that I knew the process and it was faster. My computer still thinks the toner is low, but I just turned off the message my computer was giving me about it and it wasn't a problem. I believe if the print quality starts to get bad, I know when to replace these cartridges. Anyway, this is what I actually did with my old laser printer. So it was really worth it and I'm glad I was able to save money. I don't know how long this cartridge will last, but the original cartridge only printed for 2 months (ridiculous) so I expect to save a lot of money if this new cartridge lasts at least that long.
