Bad GPS device

The basic requirement for a GPS device is to track my location, distance and pace. That's where this device fails. And it fails in crazy ways. Today I ran 16 miles cross country. At the end of the run, the Grit X showed me 4.93 miles. It wasn't successful for the first mile. I had good GPS reception so I have no idea why this could have happened. While the device recorded the entire route, heart rate, elevation gain, etc., the distance and pace were all wrong. This is the second of three runs where the device fails. I ended up tracking today's run on my iPhone and there were no tracking issues. The other day I let the device charge all night. When I woke up, the Polar Flow app and device showed that I had reached 503% of my activity goal. Again he was on duty all night. When I looked at the heart rate data, it fluctuated between 120 and 175 bpm throughout the night. I have contacted Polar regarding both issues but have not received a response from them. However, I have been running for almost a decade and a half and have used many GPS devices. I've never had such a bad breakdown. This is a bad sign for this product. I need my devices to do at least a few things: track my route, distance, heart rate, and pace. If you can't do that with a nearly $500 (tax included) device, it's a complete bust. Maybe Polar can fix that, but how could they ship a device with such flaws in the first place? Maybe it's broken. I don't know and I don't have time to find out. It's very disappointing, but this device is making a comeback. UPDATE: It's been three weeks and Polar still hasn't responded to my two support requests. I checked the junk mail folder and found that the email can go anywhere. They didn't answer. I understand we are going through a global pandemic so maybe they don't have enough staff. But Polar decided to release this device in May at the height of the pandemic, so they should have support (hopefully working from home) for this brand new device. But that's not the case. I don't know why there are so many positive reviews for this device if my experience was so bad. However, if you connect this Revain product page URL to the fakespot dot com website, you will see that it has a low rating ("D" at the time of writing this article) for legitimate reviews. So if you're still interested in this device, be prepared to be disappointed. But more importantly, check the return policy and order it. I don't recommend it, but you might have a better experience. My experience was very bad. It was the worst piece of equipment I have ever tried in my 12 years of long distance running and mountain biking on roads and trails (mostly trails).
