The blanket itself works, very soft and fluffy. It heats up quickly and is perfect as a blanket. The cord is detachable, which makes it easy to wash the blanket. The "fur" side isn't the best and is a little shabby. It also seems to lose a lot, but maybe after washing the situation will improve. However, the control is the worst by any measure. They must have spent additional development time to provide the worst possible user experience. First, the display's backlight is so dim that you have to strain to read it unless you're in a very dark room. And it's a type of display that can only be read when the backlight is on, making it almost impossible to read in bright places. Check out my photo versus the one on the product page; no comparison! On top of that, the way the controls work is just ridiculous. There are four buttons; OFF-ON button, TEMP button, TIMER button and MODE button. OFF-ON works as expected, just like a simple switch. Now that they have dedicated buttons for TEMPERATURE and TIMER, one would expect that pressing either button would change the assigned setting, no; You must first press MODE to "flash" the TEMP or TIMER setting on the display, then press the appropriate button to change the setting (why?). If you have a MODE button to toggle between TEMP and TIMER then you would expect the other two buttons are simply + and - to change the setting of the value selected by MODE. With this controller, if you select either setting by pressing MODE, only the corresponding button will function. For example, when you select TEMP, only the TEMP button does anything, so why not just use OFF-ON, TEMP, and TIMER? This clunky setup, combined with an almost unreadable display, makes operating the controls cumbersome. As said above, now that I have it I will keep it because it works. But I wouldn't buy it again nor would I recommend it to anyone because every other heating pad, blanket or blanket I've had is so much easier to use than this one.
