I've had this monitor for 3 months now and have deliberately waited to write this review to give a more objective "long term" assessment. This is my daily monitor and I use my computer for everything (I don't have a TV or other entertainment devices other than my phone). My computer and monitor stay on 24/7 to give you an idea of how my components are being used. I'm running the background you see in the image with HWINFO64 and a few other apps staying in the same places. So far I haven't had any burnout. I received this monitor brand new with no dead pixels and it still has none! Adjust angle or height. I would have preferred something more solid and metallic but functional. The monitor has fantastic color reproduction for the price and one of the most consistent blacks I've seen with a TN panel. The one I received also has very little backlight. The monitor WILL BECOME HOT when operated at the default brightness settings. By default the brightness was 50 and I have 5! I also updated the firmware which should eliminate excess heat. The process of updating the firmware was intuitive and quite simple. HDR looks great on a monitor, but unfortunately the Windows implementation of HDR sucks. The monitor flickers heavily when Windows switches between SDR and HDR; what can happen in games (when another app is doing something in the background). I simply disabled HDR and adjusted my settings to represent the color space as accurately as possible. You must power this monitor with BOTH USB and Display/HDMI cables. I don't use the Aorus software, but I still had to use USB for some features of the monitor. When I run the monitor at 144Hz, the text looks weird, especially when scrolling. Setting it to 120Hz makes text look beautiful no matter where it is on the display. I don't need Cleartype or any other software fixes to make text bearable, and I read and write large text on it all the time. I've used this monitor a lot for gaming and I really like it for that purpose. My previous monitor was 1440p and I enjoy gaming at 4k and this monitor has plenty of room. There are moments in some games where I just stop and think, "Wow! It looks so great!' I've been using it in gaming sessions for over 6 hours without the slightest problem (knock on wood). With the balanced overdrive setting, ghosting is minimal and response times are acceptable. Again, black looks on one TN panel looks great. For me it was a big purchase as I'm on a steady income. I did a little research and compared a lot of monitors. I think the AORUS FV43U offers the perfect balance of features and value. Most other monitors this size cost more and are ultra wide monitors with horrible pixel density and native resolution unsupported by many games for the same features in 4k from Samsung or LG you will spend 40% more I am very happy with this purchase and hope to that I can use this monitor for at least 4 years. So far my customer experience has been very positive and I will update this review if there are any problems with this monitor there. I would recommend the AORUS FV43U to anyone looking for a great monitor with some limitations at an exceptional price.
