Review on πŸ“½οΈ Projector with Compatible Digital Adapter Charging by Luis Thompson

It works, but it shouldn't be your first choice.

Whatever you're trying to do, if you have another way to do it, this might be the way to go. In my case, I needed to connect a keyboard and monitor. on the iPad Air. Apple does not make or sell an adapter that supports USB and HDMI over Lightning, and I think I now understand why. I'm just not sure if the connector is right for the job. It works with this device, but that's all. The first problem is that the delay between what's happening on the tablet and what's happening on the monitor is about a second. Strangely, I didn't feel it while typing, but opening apps and navigating the interface makes a noticeable difference. The tablet's screen was as fast as you'd expect, and the monitor followed suit. The second problem is the quality of the picture on the monitor. Not good. Not sure if it's bad compression on the iPad or bad signal quality going through this device, but it was easy. Fur. Pixelated edges, wrong colors, dropped frames, etc. It looked like a budget connection. And let's be honest, this is a budget connection. The third question is heat. Thing gets hot. I could still handle it after about five minutes of use, but it was well above body temperature. Can't tell if it's as hot as it's getting or if it's getting hotter, but that's quite a lot of heat in 5 minutes. Much more than you feel from a fast-charged phone, for example. Dangerous? Probably no? But I'll probably check it every 15 minutes or so for a while before I feel comfortable leaving it alone. So it works. And thanks to the manufacturer for creating a device that allows a bad Lightning connector to do a job I just don't think it was meant to do. It's wearable. But whatever use case you find for it, if you have another way to achieve it, that other way is probably the way to go. I certainly wouldn't use this for mission critical purposes. And I could hide it if my home insurance agent came to visit.
