That's weird. I ordered 3 boxes marked MZ-7LH480NE, that's 883 DCT. The same label that seals the box shows the correct serial number for the drive that is actually in the box. Inside the box is a PM883 drive with the same serial number as outside the box, but the model number of the actual drive is MZ7LH480HAHQ-00005, which is PM883 (the drive is also called PM833, not 883 DCT). . Drives cannot be registered with Samsung for warranty, which was my biggest problem. Information on the PM883 is a bit hard to come by, but unlike the others, these drives aren't from 2016 and include a capacitor to protect the write buffer. The PM883 was released in 2018 and pretty much every spec I could find is otherwise pretty much identical to the 883DCT, with the possible exception of OEM firmware. I couldn't find any documentation that said the wear leveling differs between the two drives, and I was able to find any documentation that there is power protection - the main issue is the search warrant. Return discs for a refund.
