Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not Recommended: Serious quality control issues.

Conclusion: I really wanted to love this monitor. Unfortunately after about a week I started having flickering vertical lines on the right side of the screen. I went through the painless process of replacing the Revain hoping that this was a one-time issue, but now the problem is made worse by replacing the screen as well. Some research suggests this is a fairly common issue with this screen. I cannot recommend this product, even for the price. I also need to return this screen and try a different monitor. Everything else: I got it as a second monitor because I needed more space compared to HD. I stare at text all day so I looked for IPS panels as they tend to have the best static images. In that regard they have not let me down. The picture on this screen is beautiful. Once you set the cleartype, you won't notice any text pixelation. Drag day and night windows from my 1920x1200 monitor to this 4K screen. The colors look fine to me, but I don't do color-sensitive work. I always turn down the brightness of my monitors a bit because modern monitors look very bright even at low settings. After doing this, I didn't notice any eyestrain or other issues (no noticeable flickering, etc.). Compared to the VA panel I have on my gaming console, the pixel grid is much less noticeable. If it weren't for quality control issues, I'd happily stare at this thing all day. Pros: Lots of pixels IPS panel Image quality is amazing VESA mount (compared to non-1A models) Cons: Quality control VESA mount doesn't seem solid, just seems to be connected to the case (which is something to watch out for, if you frequently reposition your monitors) Speakers (if you take care of them, the sound is terrible, especially at almost full volume) Untested: gaming performance

Pros
  • HDMI x2, DisplayPort, audio input and output
Cons
  • Unattractive design.
