The only benefit of this charger is that it can charge any number of batteries at once, up to 8, as many as other chargers require you to charge Charge batteries in pairs, which is a problem when you have a device that only uses 3 batteries, which many of my LED flashlights and my kid's toys require. Insert the batteries to charge, the LED indicator shows how much charge is left. This turned out to be more helpful than I thought. It turns out that when my LED flashlight quickly dims, only one battery has lost most of its charge, not all three batteries equally. This way I can "fix" a bad battery and reset three batteries to the same state of charge and discharge. The price is a bit high but I think this charger is a worthwhile investment and will probably save me money. in the long run by extending the life of my expensive batteries. I've owned it for a year now, use it about every 3-4 weeks depending on battery needs and haven't had any issues so far. The auto shut off feature is handy as 99% of the time I forget to charge the batteries after about 2 days and the charger doesn't just sit there to prime my expensive batteries.
