This is a vastly improved popcorn maker. The beans don't seem to cook evenly. You will also need to purchase a remote infrared thermometer to check the temperature and get a proper roast. I'm on my fifth roast and second coffee bean style and still can't beat the taste of the finished coffee beans. The roasting is a messy, smelly process (damp hay, no smell of coffee) that has to be done outside or the smoke alarm will go off. The straw emitted by the beans is a static electrical nightmare that spreads everywhere. The temperature of this machine is in degrees Celsius, which is also a bit frustrating. If I had to rebuild I would choose a roaster that is programmable and able to control the actual temperature of the beans.
