Review on Fusible Bonding Web For Powerful Stitching: Dritz Stitch Witchery Ultra Light, 5/8-Inch X 20-Yards White by Nancy Murphy

Perfect if you hate hemming

I bought this for some re-fashion projects and so far I really like it. I wanted to buy the ultra strength, but didn't notice until it came that I chose the wrong one. I just double it if I'm using it for something that's likely to come undone.I haven't had any problems with the adhesive melting and binding. The instructions state "Always test before use. 1.Place Stitch Witchery between fabric layers. 2.Cover with damp press cloth. Set steam iron on Wool and press for 10 seconds on each side. Do not slide iron. 3.Allow to cool. Check - if bond is secure. Press again if necessary."I found that it didn't work without the damp cloth and when I tried to just use the steam on the iron. I followed the instructions pretty closely. I used an old washcloth as my press cloth, set the iron to cotton (one setting higher than wool on my iron) and pressed for 15 seconds on just one side. I've just used it on knit and woven clothing with good results.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • It can be time-consuming to use
