Review on Plug N Play Start-X Remote Starter For Toyota Tundra 2018-2021: Remote Start with Just 3 Locks, Wire Splicing-Free Option! by Michael Hudson

Know the limitations before you buy

This is an inexpensive way to add remote start to your car with no wiring or splicing. It's really plug and play. Installation took about 25 minutes. The description doesn't say that and I wish it had because I bought a $5 Trim Stripper Kit, but it does come with a plastic trim stripper. Check out the video here in the product description, it covers everything. I was interested in it for two reasons: 1. Because it's plug and play2. He's using a factory key. Because a factory key fob is used, you are limited to the factory range of that key fob. I was aware of this, so I can't give the product a star for something that is well known. If you want to start your truck from your office 200 feet away, you're out of luck. If you want information that your car has started, you're out of luck (although it's a Fortin EVO One device and I believe you can add a two-way plug and play transmitter. More on that later when I receive the requested information). This is a great device for those who want to remotely start their truck from a short distance and be able to visually see or hear when it starts. If you need more, look elsewhere. Also note that this isn't a high-end bypass device like the others. In order for it to work it needs to temporarily unlock your truck, the truck will start and then lock again. It rubs me a little because my truck is unlocked for a few seconds. What is the probability that someone will open it at this moment? Slim to nothing, but it still bugs me a little. I knew this was going to happen, so I can't give this device a star for that. 5 Stars. He does what he says and nothing else.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not the best
