Review on AT&T TL86109 TL86109 Two-Line DECT 6.0 Phone System with Bluetooth - Enhanced Communication and Connectivity by Mandy Gonzalez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very happy with this 2 wire/bluetooth system.

I bought the AT&T TL86109 cordless phone system because it supports 2 lines and Bluetooth technology. Now I can access my landline, Internet phone line (Magic Jack VOIP) and cell phone with just one handset. I have upgraded this system with an AT&T DECT 6.0 wireless headset, model #TL7610. When I'm at home, I can use just one headset to access all my lines, including my cell phone. Overall the system works as advertised and I am happy with the system. I believe this model of AT&T cordless phones is made by VTech because it's very similar to my two-line VTech cordless phones. VTech is also mentioned in the user manual. I was very happy with the VTech 2 line phones except they didn't have Bluetooth technology. Although I rated these phones 5 stars, there are a few things that are a bit bulky and less convenient to use on these AT&T phones. . So they really should be rated 4.75 stars. Here are my complaints: Phones don't show date and time in standby mode. It's also a waste of screen space in my opinion. It's not a big problem, but I'm used to looking at other cordless phones to see the current time. Viewing Caller ID takes 3 steps instead of one. It bothers me. You need to press the CID key, then select a row (1, 2, cell A or cell B) and then use the function key to select "View". On other two-line phones, you just press the CID button and you can then immediately see incoming calls and indicate which line was called when you view the list. Similarly, to view the phone book, you must press the DIR button and then select Home or one of the paired phone books. The system allows you to search the directory, so that's a plus. To exit the sub-menus quickly and completely, you must press and hold the OFF/CLEAR button. On the base station, press and hold the CANCEL button. On my VTech phones, all I had to do was press the OFF button without holding it and it would exit the nested menus instantly. So it took me a while to figure out that my AT&T system worked differently. You cannot rename cordless phones. It would be nice if you could rename them instead of going through each phone with the name "HANDSET X" where X is a number between 1 and 12. That way I could give the phone the name of the room it's in. , and therefore it is easier to use the intercom when communicating with the person in this room. For example, if PIPE 5 is in the kitchen, I can just rename it to "Kitchen" instead of trying to remember that the kitchen pipe number is 5 and not 6, 7 or some other number. Also, when the phones get mixed up, I don't understand at all which phone is which with the number. Also, my VTech phones had intercom buttons. On AT&T phones, you have to go through the menu to use the intercom feature. Finally, it would be nice if the intercom had a distinctive ringtone from other lines. That way, the person being called knows it's someone trying to intercom them, not an incoming call that they can ignore.
