Review on Munchkin Sleep Toddler Queen Mattresses by Matthew Coste

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Discover many options in detail. This poorly designed product is the best of a bad field.

Advantages 1 - The Munchkin bed rail came well packed from the factory and all parts were in the box. This time Revain even sent me the item in a matching box which prevented damage in transit, which is about 50 out of 50 Revain listings these days. looks good and seems durable and probably easy to clean if needed. 3 - The hinges and hinge lock/unlock buttons work well and appear strong enough to remain functional and reliable for a long time. However, time will tell. 4. From what I've seen in my review of competing products, the Munchkin Sleep Bed Rail offers the distinct advantage that the hinges are designed to prevent baby's body parts from snagging on them. 5 - The device is easy to learn and use. 6 - The rail rotates 180 degrees down to be flush with the side of the bed when it is "open". Very good. However, the consumer must consider the dimensions of the product and the intended bed it is to be used on for this feature to work properly. I measured my setup. The bottom of the red handrail legs (the parts that go under the mattress) must be at least 7.5 inches off the floor to allow the handrail gate to rotate 180 degrees without touching the floor. 7 - After completing the effort to attach and tighten the straps under the mattress, the bed frame appears to be attached to the bed fairly firmly and securely. Cons 1 - The description from Revain (or the manufacturer?) says "easy assembly in 1 minute". This is an oversight at best that doesn't include at least 10 minutes of wrestling and gymnastics required to install the device on the bed. At worst, it's just a misleading lie.2 - Before ordering, I studied this and similar products in detail, including how to install them. The Munchkin Sleep Bed Rail turned out to be the least stupidly designed product available. However, a Velcro design is a bad idea. I give the concept a 6 out of 10, with 6 being the minimum.3 - There are no photos in the product description posted on Revain showing the ridiculous mounting system. And nothing is said about this ridiculous design. I looked at the Munchkin page, which also doesn't say anything about the design of the product homepage. After persevering, I found a link to a product install page that ended up showing a not-so-fancy design. It seems that the design only considers low-cost production and minimal shipping costs, completely ignoring the ease of installation and change of bedding by the consumer. to remove and reinstall it. 5 - The quality of the advertised 'strong harness' which 'eliminates the gap between the mattress and the bed rail' is the bare minimum you can get away with. The webbing clips are quite poorly designed and difficult to access under the mattress - the tiny latch is also on the other side of the user. The straps are thin and get caught in the clips when tightened.
