Pleasantly surprised!
I've needed the original remote to adjust the volume function on my Xfinity remote for years and I finally found the damn thing. At first I was hesitant, thinking I would have to carefully learn how to program everything; but once i put the batteries in (2 AAA) i was able to regulate the volume and type in bed! I didn't need any codes or anything, the tv jumped on straight away! In short, if you need a new remote control for your Phillips TV, look no further!
