TLDR: At this price I can't think of a better product for the job.

I've only been using them for about 2 days now but so far they're great for what I needed. I've been traveling a lot lately as I'm moving and I enjoy listening to various talk shows while I work and the dynamic volume of some of these makes it almost impossible to get my feet off my very average laptop. In the evenings when I stream movies I had the same dialog problem. My first solution to this problem was an audio amplification app, which (sort of) works, but costs $20 for the registered version, has bad reviews, and only had a 2-week trial period. After a long search, I was surprised to find that there is basically only this application for this purpose. Also, at the end of the day, I'm still stuck with my laptop's speakers playing straight off the keyboard (like most) and sounding pretty terrible (like most). Enter these types. They play easily twice as loud as my internal laptop speakers, sound significantly better (they even manage to produce some bass. Men speaking now sound like real men, not chipmunks, but certainly don't expect them to be your replacing home theater) and actually attached to the top of my screen (Dell E6410), albeit loosely. They're also the perfect size for me to carry around with my other stuff without much fuss. Each speaker is about the size of a deck of cards. So far my only complaints about them are rather minor. When I first got them, I did what most people probably do: I immediately threw the instructions in the trash, pocketed them, and attempted to tape them to a screen in a dimly lit room for bedtime streaming to see. The speakers are actually mechanically left and right and can't be placed in the opposite orientation (and when mated, as you can see in the main photo, they don't click at all) so I played around with them quite a bit before finding out. This isn't really a fault of the product as I'm sure the instructions say so I haven't read it but it's a little annoying that I can't keep them neatly sewn together as shown and just glue them on when whenever i want . Another issue is that the connection via the 3.5mm jack doesn't seem to be that good. I have to rotate it to get a strong connection that doesn't cause crackling or static electricity. It could be an issue specifically with my laptop or just my speakers, but I haven't noticed it with anything else related. Finally, the cables are ridiculously long for a laptop. I would have preferred the cables to be about half the length and the volume control to be right on the USB port rather than half the length of the cable so I would have to coil it up to adjust the volume, but I guess not everyone goes Do it. I use them as I do, so they had to find a middle ground somewhere. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would buy them again. At this price I can't think of a better product for the job.
