I was looking for a closed case or box to organize and store my spools of thread. Many are just too small and don't have enough power. I was fascinated by the design of this case, although at first it seemed a bit pricey. After a long search I decided to buy it. It arrived today and I immediately started laying out all the spools of thread. The description says you can store up to 64 coils, but this case actually holds more. The spindles are 2 5/8" and fit all common spool sizes. If you have very small spools, which I have several of, you can easily get two spools per spindle. Every spool of thread I own, is easily and efficiently organized in a suitcase! This sleeve holds the coil securely in place while still making it easy to remove. The case opens and closes smoothly even when full. The case has legs that hold it in a free position on the bottom (opposite the handle). It will be very useful when placed on a bookshelf or shelf. The flat side and shape of the handle also allows for hanging from a dowel or straight double stanchion (example: National Mfg N180-737, 6" Heavy-Duty Double stanchion, 2/pack - quantity 5). many many many threads can hang two or three drawers on one hook.
