Atv is nice quality and very sturdy. Assembly was relatively easy, we did have a little trouble with putting the wheels on. I would say assembly should be about an hour if you follow the instructions and have the tools you need. As far as the actual riding it is very slow and I would say the younger the better for this. Power wheels brand definitely have more speed so I would get this for anyone younger that has the ability to handle controlling one but is still not good enough to go fast. There is delay when pushing the pedal to when it actually starts moving. Driving in the grass is even slower than the advertised speed. Might be able to rig up a better battery if you want it to go faster as your kid grows
