I decided to buy this cable after reading that it is one of Google's preferred cables for Android Auto. However, there were numerous failures when using this cable, and some even forced me to take my eyes off the road and focus on the infotainment system. This actually prompted me to look for another cable, a cheap $5 cable from an unknown brand that works great with Android Auto. Since then I've only switched to the Cable Matters cable for charging as its data transfer capabilities are clearly not up to par. I will most likely avoid this once trusted brand for personal use. Oh and when their support team contacted me I replied, they responded with an obvious response showing they hadn't read my previous email and their main response was "return" for a refund, which a) for is obvious to anyone who shops at Revain and b) treat the customer dismissively and never fix the problem.
