Review on Enhance Your Sleep with Tempur-Pedic Cool Luxury Mattress Protector, King Size, in Crisp White by Keri Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The cooling version is pretty good. Slept cooler than some others I've tried.

I have bought both cooling and non-cooling versions. I have a new Tempurpedic Luxe Adaptation mattress and wanted to find a waterproof protection that would not affect the mattress's performance or cooling. I've tried several including the safest (cotton terry), Perlux (tencel) and lilac. Each of them had their ups and downs. Cotton terry is good because it keeps it from feeling too slippery compared to the tempura top that encroaches on your body. The tencel cooled well but was very smooth and had a thin plastic that looked like creases and the purple color went terribly with this mattress and felt like a shower curtain. Purple was very hot. the safest follow. The Perlux Tencel had good cooling; no sweat. I tried the Tempurpedic Chilled version and the top is a good mix of all; soft but not too slippery. Doesn't feel too plasticky and the overall build is a notch above the rest. To my complete surprise. I actually stayed pretty cool, at least at Tencel level if not better; but with a much better feeling. It felt cool, like my mattress topper. No night sweats, even in the morning it was cold. The material tag contains a blend of polyethylene (a claimed molecular yarn material). I am sending it back without refrigeration. When it came out, I read that the upper is 100% polyester; who will surely sleep in hell. The only thing I didn't like about all but the cotton-terry type (the safest) was the lines the bodice folded under your sheet; They're easy to comb, but that's it. At least that's my conclusion. It seems that the perfect defender doesn't exist. I will say though the refrigeration temps are pretty good so far.
