I bought a set of two sets of this universal wireless microphone. The lapel clip on the back is securely attached to the rotating metal stand, and the microphone button works well. The overall size of the mics is smaller compared to the original Motorola mics, but they are perfect for use with the smaller Motorola PR-400 radios that we just bought for us and my wife when we travel, hike and hike. or just driving down the street in different cars - oh, and also when we're strolling through the casinos alone because our cell phones have very, very bad signal in the buildings. The mics seem pretty solid (I've accidentally dropped mine on rocks a few times while hiking, concrete and tile) and their ability to keep going through snow and rainy weather is fantastic. I would buy these wireless microphones again. UPDATE (6 months later): Obviously, $10 doesn't get you quality build, but the price is so low compared to true Motorola wireless mics and other compatible mics. what I expected, after all, to replace the microphones. However, I expected the mics to last at least a year before needing replacement, but the convenience of only using the mics and not the entire radio when we want to talk makes it worth buying the kit back. Only one of the first microphones is defective, the second works perfectly by the way. The issue we had with one of the mics was an intermittent connection issue, sometimes the radio would detect it, sometimes you had to wiggle the connections, and on the rare occasion a bad connection would cause our radios to beep. loud, or we could hear another radio through the microphone but we couldn't answer. UPDATE (3 months later): Well I need another mic. The problem, unlike the last mic swap, is that the person pressing the mic is transmitting either noise or dead air, doesn't hear them speak, only hears the mic being pressed and then released after the call ends is. I have not heard anything. However, I realized that I need to hold the mic and cable a certain way to the mic base in order for me to transmit, so there must be a bad connection at this point. Again, what can you expect from a cheap $10 Motorola-compatible microphone, right?
