Review on AMD Ryzen 5600G 12 Thread Processor by Anthony Record

Fast Multithreaded Process - Great Value

I'm writing this review amid a major chip shortage and graphics card mining smash in 2021. Long story short, my GeForce 980TI has failed. The prices for graphics cards are going through the roof, even the used market has become stupid. I found this out after looking at and reading about some reviews online. Let's get down to business. Gaming Performance - I play a variety of games - Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), Diablo II Resurrected, Outer Worlds and Fallout 4. Default cooler, default speed, motherboard set to XMP 2 profile in my RAM. ESO - 1080p, combination of low and medium settings - 45-70 fps, with 58 being the average. Diablo II Resurrected - Low 1080p. 40 - 60 fps Outer Worlds - 720p, high and medium mixed settings - 50 fps. Fallout 4 - 1080p average, 50-60 fps, this chip plays these YouTube games. So here are the pros and cons: Pros - Fast, good chip, great multi-threaded performance (so if you're encoding or editing photos, videos, etc.) this thing is super fast, Vega 7 graphics are good. for what they are. This thing overclocks perfectly, I was able to overclock it to 4.4GHz with a stock cooler. I wouldn't leave it at that, but with a better cooler the thing becomes a rocket. Best of all, it slipped straight into my MSI B450 Mortar motherboard after updating the BIOS. Cons: If you want to overclock this thing, you need a better cooler. Period. You'll also need fast RAM for the best processing and video performance (I'd say at least 3600MHz RAM. I'm using 4400MHz). Vega graphics are perfectly fine by my (MY) standards. If you're a competitive gamer and want the highest, best, and fastest framerates ever, then you're better off either scouring the used car market or waiting for graphics card prices to return to some form of sanity.
