I bought this because we sold our house and moved to an apartment closer to town. I ride to work every day so I needed something to cover the bike when I got home that wouldn't melt from the hot engine. This case fits perfectly on my 2016 Harley Road Glide Ultra (a huge bike with fairing and touring backpack). The lid completely covers my touring bag at the back and the fairing at the front, but is high enough over the engine that I can cover it immediately with confidence. Two elastic straps are worn on both sides of the passenger footrests at the rear and the shift/brake lever at the front. It was hit by some pretty strong winds and held up well, just stretched the strips a bit but nothing major. Water resistance seems on point, but since engine heat can't escape, some condensation can form inside if left overnight and temperatures drop. The vent flap may have helped with that, but who knows. The canvas is very light and folds into a bag the size of a Gatorade bottle. The fabric is surprisingly strong for being so light. It seems to have been very well preserved until they dispersed. TO UPDATE. It's been 15 months since I bought the case. As they say, I ride EVERY day regardless of the weather. My bike is my only means of transportation. I work in 2 municipal fire departments, 24 hour shifts in a row. The jobs are 70 kilometers apart and my bike rides outside every day, whatever the weather. At around 15 months, the lid literally ripped open at the slightest touch. I'm not mad because I paid $20-30 for a year of protection. In hindsight, I have a feeling that if I had "touched up" the lid with waterproof silicone spray every few months, it might still be with us.
