The ouMandis Upgrade Premium smart scale was ordered for use in my training area. I usually workout 5-6 days a week, I'm 5'10" tall and weigh between 175 and 185 depending on the time of year. The scale is packaged nicely in a secure box and also includes a tape measure. The scale comes with a rechargeable lithium battery which should last 3 to 4 months on a single charge.Although partially charged when I received them I charged them straight away.Scale with USB port and plug included (scale not included).Charging to full capacity took about 30 minutes. Also, the top of the scale is made of tempered glass and the set measures up to 400 pounds. The product description states that this smart scale measures weight (lbs or kg), BMI and some other body measurements. This will vary based on accuracy can be a nice feature. The scale also comes with an app that can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple Store and then tracks various body measurements parameters Registration. So, here's what I found. First, I have another digital scale and have tested its accuracy using high precision scales at my GP's office. When weighing my scale a few years ago, it was 1/10th of a pound of the doctor's scale. I took 2 measurements on the ouMandis Smart Scale. The real mass of a 35-kilogram "dumbbellโ was put on the scales. He weighed 33 pounds, a 5.7% difference. When I weighed on the scale there was a 3 pound difference between my other scales and the OuMandis scale. In my opinion, this makes a significant difference for those who are on a weight loss program or just want to know their weight. I was also at my doctor's office that morning and my other scales were again checked to 1/10th of a pound of the doctor's scale. The product description states that the app and scale accurately measure BMI and several other body measurements. All other BMI charts I've used show that my BMI is in the 23-25 range. ouMandis states that my BMI is around 28. It shows my body fat percentage at 28.7% while other charts show it staying stable at 18-19%. So I don't understand why there is such a difference. As previously mentioned, the scale came with a tape measure for use in taking body measurements. It is measured in both inches and millimeters/centimeters. Millimeter checked with accurate results compared to ruler and tape measure. However, when I first looked at the tape, it turned out that "inches" was very long. So I measured with a ruler and tape measure. Both the ruler and the other tape measure had the same spacing for inches and feet. ouMandis was significantly inaccurate compared to the other two. One ouMandis inch is measured as an actual 1 3/8 inches. The exact 12 inch foot measures 9.2 inches on the ouMandis band. The ouMandis tape measures for one inch are divided into tenths and not the standard 1/16, 1/8 or 1/4 inch measurements used on most rulers. So if you use this tape measure to measure your waist, chest and other body measurements you will end up with very inaccurate inch measurements. The ouMandis app comes with different advertisements when it is open and at different times during the screen change. It's an annoying experience. CONCLUSION: I can only recommend this scale for everyday use. Too many imperfections.
