Makeerbeam XL is a cheaper alternative to OpenBeam with some pros and cons. If you get the black option, the surface will scratch easily. A smooth surface is sometimes not what you need. All in all, it's a good option if you're on a tight budget. All accessories work between the two systems, so that's not the case. In the future I'll probably buy a little bit of each - MakerBeams when I'm doing the long lengths.
