Review on πŸ“± Google Nexus 10 Wi-Fi 32GB: High-Performance Tablet with Connectivity Options by Giles Lacoste

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Beautiful tray! Overall, the Nexus 10 is impressive.

Moving from the Asus TF300T to the Nexus 10 is like going from being homeless to living in a posh luxury mansion. I used the tablet primarily for college classes (ebooks, powerpoint slides, pdf notes, homework, etc.) but now I use it more than my laptop. The TF300T was only good enough for school, but now I needed something stronger and faster. So I chose N10. It's been a week and here are my results: GOOD: The Nexus 10's high-resolution display is as good as the smoothness of the operating system. High graphics performance games as well as memory intensive applications run with such fluidity and ease. The speed of the N10 is nothing short of amazing. From surfing the web to reading articles to playing games, the speed with which each task is completed is excellent. Sound quality is expected from a tablet. Not overwhelming, but good enough for the tasks required. The dual speakers are an added bonus, allowing you to reproduce some sort of stereo sound. BAD: I found 2 problems. The WiFi connection seems to flicker when an app like an MMORPG is constantly using the connection. In some cases, the connection will be lost. There is an app that fixes this problem (it's name is WiFi Fixer) but I prefer to let Google solve this problem instead of creating this app. Auto brightness sensor is buggy when it comes to screen brightness. Sometimes it works very well, and other times the brightness fluctuates randomly when going from light to dark (or vice versa). A simple fix for this is to simply turn off auto-brightness in settings. Overall, I'm really impressed with this tablet. If you can handle those two issues, the N10 is a great tablet. By the way, I don't differentiate between brands. I choose what I think is best for my taste. I am by no means a fan of products or operating systems. I have a WP8 phone (Nokia Lumia 920), an HP G71-340US laptop with Windows 7, a classic Apple iPod (120GB) and a Google N10 32GB.
