Suitable for inserts

This is normal contact paper. My complaint about this and another I've bought is that they stick it on. I actually lost enough of where it was folded and glued (it tore the paper off in two places) that I didn't have enough to finish the top of the second end of the table. I was EXACTLY that kid! Why can't they just use a small piece of shrink wrap? I want to take a picture to explain what I mean. before I threw it away! Also, I don't think it's strong enough to be used for a countertop.
