Hold the bracket firmly, the magnet is a little weaker when installed inside the case.
The mount snaps snugly and securely into the dashboard. I've tried installing a metal washer in my case as suggested, but that's not great if you have potholes in your neighborhood like mine. Attaching the metal insert to the outside of my phone (adhesive included) holds up pretty well. Handy if you don't want to use a phone holder. Seems a bit pricey for what it is, but isn't it all these days?
