Line Cutting 30 Miles North of New York, Manhattan

I live about 30 miles north of Manhattan, New York and wanted to cut the line. My cable bill for two cable TV boxes and just the main channels with Optimal costs me about $38 a month for about 20 channels. I bought an EDA FT100 and an RCA 751 TV antenna. The Electroline EDA FT100 looks solid. I love the Electroline amps that Cable TV Ampss sells having bought one over 10 years ago when he/she was selling them on e-bay. I still have the EDA FT 08100 and it still works fine. One of the things you'll notice about the Electronine app is the lack of plastic, it's all metal. It's also good because they get warm. The Electroline amp seems to be aimed at the "pro" market. The amplifier comes in a plain blister pack with some instructions on plain paper. Not nice packaging. To a certain extent it assumes that you know what you are doing. There was an additional guide attached from Cable TV Amplifiers trying to explain how to use the amplifier and why you might have a bad picture and what to do about it etc. After connecting the antenna and the EDA FT-100 can i get it 100 channels where i live. It depends a bit on the time of day, at night I get more channels. It was easy to connect. My only advice is if you're doing this in the attic, try spring or fall. I'm sure I lost a few pounds in my forced sauna. Other things you'll need from Home Depot are (1) RG6 cable for about $19/100ft, (2) RG6 cable strippers $8, and twisted-pair F connectors in a $10-$10 package. Avoid crimping as you will need a tool to do it. Setting up the EDA FT 100 was easy, the tricky part was the antenna, but that's another story. I connected the EDA FT-100 directly to the antenna in my attic. It then goes a long way, maybe 100 feet or so, into my basement where the Optimum cable enters the house. I have my ElectrolineEDA FT-08100 in it. I just replaced (a) an Optimum cable with (b) an RG6 cable coming from the attic/EDA FT-100 antenna. It then feeds the EDA FT-8100 which it distributes to my home TVs. The EDA FT-100 does not overload the input stage of the EDA FT-08100 by signal attenuation on a long cable). Image 1080HD no problem. This is to be expected since all digital signal channels are either (1) perfect or (2) nothing. Electroline amps are a bit more expensive, but I think they're worth the extra cost.
