I use them to mount my ultrapod table tripod to trees when I'm doing fishing and outdoor videos with my phone or pocket camera. This saves me the hassle of carrying around a full size tripod when there are so many natural supports around. The tension is very good and the straps are very light. Given the texture of most trees, I have a feeling these straps would have enough grit to easily secure even multi-pound crates/items. A thicker strap might last longer, but for the price they are excellent. When you tie something to metal or a pole, especially if it's the wrong shape, there can be some slippage. For example, if you mount a flat backed cam on a round metal bar, there will be natural twist rather than a flat body on a square bar. Given the uneven nature of mating and the smoother nature of a plastic or metal rod, there may be some slippage if the item is heavier. You can fix this by placing a piece of tape or something similar between the belt and the tension point. Talk in detail about how they can work in different scenarios. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, esp. by price.
