I used to buy lamps of different brands in this size only to be disappointed. Some blew my fuses, others blew right in front of me. The base looks like three brass blades inserted into one. The electronics appear to be professionally welded in the center of the base. They are what I call them about three times brighter than halogen or stock bulbs. In 2017, this will also be installed inside. I connected the bulbs to the quick start box and left them on for about 2 hours and about 4 hours the next day. Lamps never smell like burning solder and don't smoke like others. They run a few degrees cooler than traditional halogen bulbs. Fixing a small crack when everything is in order, as is the case with glass halogen lamps. Talk about the durability of these lamps and I will update this review once the lamps throw tantrums.
