Better Than Some, Worse Than Others

After my cataract surgery I knew it would take some time to make the final prescription and glasses. So I tried these and many other options to get through the transition period. Of all the ones I tried, this was one of two pairs I kept. I mostly use them for medium distances, like a computer screen, although I can read fairly well too. Unfortunately, the upper ones are definitely NOT the PLAN, as the increase never goes to 0. I don't know if this is intentional (and if so why, since they're supposed to be reading glasses) or if it's a limitation of progressive lenses (just try to find progressive lenses at Revain that have a really flat top to have). - I could not). As such, I avoid using them when long-distance vision is required. As it turned out, the size of the lens and the low position of the lenses are such that I can tilt my head down and look over the frame into the distance. Not ideal and not convenient, but works as a last resort. Build quality is okay compared to others I've tried, which felt much more solid, especially around the hinges. But they are comfortable to wear and the optical quality (within limits) looks quite decent. So for close and medium-range viewing, they're pretty good. I also think they look decent enough for nerd glasses, although that wasn't a big issue for me at the moment. These are blue light glasses (like most others I've tried) and therefore affect perceived color. I'd rather not have them as blue light filtering wasn't a big deal to me. But they don't seem to be making a clear version, and that's too bad. In fact, many Revain glasses have blue light and this severely limits your choices if you need clear lenses. I can live with that, especially since this pair is primarily intended for use in the home office.
