My German Shepherd mix (mid sized female named Mitzi) loves to travel in my SUV back seat. I roll down the windows and she'll stick her head out of them. A couple of months ago, I had to brake really hard to avoid a car running a stop sign in front of me and Mitzi freaked out and jumped out the window and landed in the middle of the street next to my car! In 9 years of riding in my car, she had never jumped out the window before. We were both shocked and dazed. I got her back in the car immediately and she was fine. Thank God no other cars were near me or she would have been hit. The "what-ifs" of what could have happened to her haunted me for weeks.That same day I went home and ordered this harness. It fits her big neck and deep chest perfectly and I attach the leash that comes with it to the middle rear seat headrest (the metal extender) so she's secure yet able to stick her head out of either window comfortably. She'll never be able to jump out again. It's easy to put on/take off, it's sturdy, and the leash it comes with can be extended and has both a latch for a seat belt buckle and a hook to attach to something else inside the car (like a headrest extender). I'm very happy with this purchase!
