This is a lighted pocket magnifier. When folded, the device measures 3.25 x 1.75 x 0.75 inches. It is textured on the top to prevent slipping. To use it, pull out the magnifying glass, which is the middle layer of the body. When you pull it out, the light will turn on automatically. On the left side of the magnifier plate there is a switch to select left/right/UV light. There are 3 magnifying lenses on the plate, a large one with about 5x magnification, a small one with about 12x magnification and a tiny one with about 20x magnification (the magnifications given in the product description are optimistically exaggerated). To use 2 smaller lenses, you need to select the light, closest to the lens. You should also hold the lens in close proximity to the subject and look directly into the lens. like a jeweler's loupe. The lighting is powered by 3 CR44 batteries (for hearing aids) (included). You need a coin or a screwdriver to open the battery compartment. I find this magnifier functional and easy to carry. The lenses work well, but the functional portion of the lens with no useless diffraction is a small portion near the center of each lens, giving you a very small useful field of view. There's enough light for the lenses, and it's handy to have a built-in UV light, although I don't think it's very safe to keep the UV that close to your eyes for long periods of time. Overall, this magnifier is easy to carry and can be useful for some basic purposes. I find this magnifying glass somewhat functional and easy to carry.
