Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

Excellent cans for usage over extended periods of time (five hours or more). Excellent fitcommfort. They have a good sound quality, and the ability to change it using the equalization gives them considerable versatility to appeal to a diverse audience of listeners. You'll be able to carry on comfortable conversations online if you have a microphone that's up to par. The question is moot if you are considering it from the vantage point of WH3. (*) made note of the obvious additions that were incorporated into the new model. I believe that everyone will have the ability to decide for themselves whether or not an upgrade is necessary. A comprehensive study that includes an investigation of each of the features - Landing. My experience with XM3 is routinely put up against that of other models. Despite this, the new version is a little bit less comfortable. However, this could be due to the fact that they are still very fresh. Concerning the sound: It has become subjectively better than the XM3, but it still has a muffled top end; the sole change is that the bass has grown less pointed. Fortunately, in my situation, this can be remedied quickly and easily by changing the equalization to permanent mode one time only. - The touchpad located on the right earpiece can be used to control playing and volume. In reference to the consumption of batteries: The following is a comprehensive official guide from Sony ( - To summarize: - The supposedly long playtime of 30 hours is achieved by using LDAC with all of its functions turned off, or by using AAC and SBC with noise reduction turned on. If all of the functionality on the previous two comdecs are turned off, they will provide 38 hours. - LDAC with everything enabled in Ambient mode - 14 hours - Pay attention to this if you were counting on new and old functions, taking into consideration the 30-38 hours of battery life that is stated. Concerning the use of your own voice in the course of conversations: Alternately, the condition can be remedied by disabling the noise reduction entirely and selecting the Ambient mode as the active mode. However, once this occurs, you will start to hear the surrounding surroundings to some degree or another. The ability of the Bose QC 35 II headphones to play back the user's own speech directly into the headphones was the solution to this issue. It is unfortunate that Sony did not do it. Again, there is a venue for dealing with this.

Pros
  • - Superior craftsmanship. Nothing groans, nothing moves, and everything has been lapped and corrected. - Comfortable for long periods of use. Does not exert any strain on either your head or your ears. The weight of the headphones themselves is barely noticeable. You are able to use the headphones in conjunction with two different devices at the same time (*). - The ability to change the sound through the equalization within the official program, as well as the sound's quality overall Additionally, the equalization settings that are adjusted through the application are saved locally in the headphones themselves in a manner that is persistent even when the headphones are connected to another device. This makes using numerous devices, which these headphones are compatible with, a more convenient experience. - Charging via a Type-C port - The battery life is accurate up to 30 hours of mixed use (the battery drains roughly 15 percent in four hours). - Decent noise reduction. Eliminates a significant portion of the low frequencies, voices, and other background sounds. When riding in the older cars of the Hong Kong metro with the music playing, the background noise of the train is nearly inaudible. - A microphone of a decent quality - A sensor that detects when headphones are being worn and allows you to turn off playback as well as the power after a predetermined amount of time (*) - Support rapid pairing via NFC
Cons
  • - The headband is more compact, the fit is somewhat more snug, and there is a slightly reduced amount of room for the ears. - - The sound is another detracting factor. More can be found in the comments. Personally, I find the buttons to be easier to use while controlling something blind. Particularly while on the move. Particularly in the neighborhood. Particularly when wearing gloves. In addition to this, the button is more difficult to overlook in comparison to the gesture. Altering the track can be done more quickly and easily than adjusting the volume when you're on the move. But there's no denying that gesture control is a little bit quicker. - Unfortunately, the miracle did not take place. The battery life is significantly improved because to all the additional functions. DSEE Extreme, Ambient, and Speak-to-Chat (*), as well as noise reduction. More can be found in the comments. Despite the fact that full-size headphones have a high level of comfort, no one has ever thought to include ventilation in them. Therefore, the ears and head at the location where the headphones land get adequately warm. However, it is still bearable in most respects. If you live somewhere with a warm temperature, using headphones like these outside could be a little uncomfortable. - When noise reduction is turned on without any noises being played, a highly unpleasant sensation of pressure is formed on the ears. This feeling is comparable to the experience that one gets when their ears are blocked because of a shift in pressure. - Wireless charging seems like a natural addition to headphones of this type, in my opinion, but alas, there isn't any available. - We introduced the capability to set the noise reduction control button in the new version; however, the entire configuration process consists only of leaving the default function of switching the noise reduction mode or selecting a voice assistant (such as Google or Alexa). Naturally, I would prefer more flexibility, especially considering that the complete infrastructure required for this already exists - Even though the microphone on the XM4 is an improvement over the one in the XM3, ambient noise may still be clearly heard, and the speaker's voice comes across as muddled and unclear. However, clarity is not necessary for discussion on the sidewalk next to the traffic; however, there is a disadvantage when it comes to interactions that take place online. If you are having a conversation while using the noise reduction that is included, then your heads are barely heard to the other person. Because of what, there is a possibility that a circumstance may emerge in which you will begin talking a little louder than is required. Details will be provided in the comments. - Solid price
